Stuart Kennedy, Curator of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Museum at Edinburgh Castle visited last week and was welcomed and given a tour of the Museum, including a ‘back stage’ tour of the archives and museum store. Stuart was impressed and pleased to see the area dedicated to Regiments in particular. His own Museum located in Edinburgh Castle contains a number of museums each dedicated to Scottish Regiments.
We often host ‘exchange visits’ where we can learn from the important work other museums are doing and vice versa. Stuart’s museum is especially noted for its outreach programme, records on the First World War, from its origins in the late 17th century, and Scottish connections. He spoke about his similar responsibilities for the Regimental Archive for the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
