The Cheshire Regiment Association Meeanee Reunion Dinner was held in Chester on 18th February 2023.

17 February is a day commemorated by the Cheshire Regiment, known as Meeanee Day. 180 years ago the Battle of Meeanee was fought on 17 February 1843. Sir Charles Napier led a force of around 2,500 Indian infantry and the Cheshire Regiment against the combined armies of the Baluchi Ameers of Scinde and the Sikhs of the Punjab, now Pakistan, then in India.
74 years later, 17 February 1917, the 10th battalion Cheshire Regiment fought in an area known as Factory Farm, east of Ploegsteert Wood, Belgium.

A splendid black tie and medals affair it was open to all, whoever served in the 1st or 3rd battalions, with 277 attendees. Special thanks go to Joe & Mandy Murphy and colleagues for organising the event and to corporate sponsors CityFibre and to Chester Racecourse.
