Simon Allen has been appointed new Volunteer Lead at Cheshire Military Museum. Simon will be well known to many cadets and former cadets in Chester in his role with Chester’s Army Cadet Force.

Simon ‘assumes command’ from Nick East whose hard work as the first ever Volunteer Lead over the last few years has led to great progress putting the various volunteer policies and processes in place; the essential building blocks for engaging and rewarding volunteers and supporting the museum where needed.

Mike Huntriss Vice Chair of Friends of Cheshire Military Museum added; “It’s really important volunteer ideas on improvements to Cheshire Military Museum are passed on, responded to, and, where appropriate, actioned. Simon is an enthusiastic volunteer and leader, able to spend time at the museum and meet with the volunteers. He already knows the majority of the volunteers and will further identify their strengths and aspirations. He will provide the focal point for volunteer contact working through Alex Clark who maintains an up-to-date task sheet which allows Volunteers to readily identify jobs without further supervision. Thanks to Nick East for all his hard work prior to and then taking on the role of Volunteer Lead over the last 2 years.”
